A Peru good for your health


The months to come signal the return of good weather but also the resumption of the sporting season. Thanks to its varied geography and adapted climate, Peru organizes, each year, real sporting challenges.From the hig hest race in the world to a 3-day Andinism festival, the country offers the opportunity to discover surprising landscapes while taking up major physical challenges. Here are the next sporting events to come:

The highest race in the world: Andes Challenge Non Stop. Huaraz – Huarmey

The Andes Challenge Non-Stop Peru will take place from 2 to 3 June 2018. It’s a huge physical challenge as the course climbs to 5,686 metres above sea level. The route passes through areas of the White Cordillera with temperatures below zero at night; in the heat of the desert on the Peruvian coast, to reach the beaches of the Pacific Ocean on arrival.

Festival del Andinismo. Huaraz (between Trujillo and Lima)

This event brings together national and international athletes for 3 days to live a unique experience on the Cordillera Blanca. From 29 June to 1 July 2018, several sports and cultural activities are offered:
Aerothlon: the event takes place on 29 June 2018 and includes several disciplines such as racing, paragliding and mountain biking.

Participants begin with the « vertical kilometre »: a one-kilometre course on a mountainous slope. They then start paragliding to finish the race with mountain biking. Aerothlon registration is open and the registration fee is $60.

Genesis Inka MTB. Chavín – Casma

This cross bike competition will take place from 28 August to 1 September 2018. Running 245km, participants will experience 4 days of intense running through the Peruvian Andes.

Beyond the sporting effort, the circuit allows to discover the millennial archaeology of Peru, its traditional villages and its breathtaking landscapes.

The runners will cross parts of Quapac Ñan, the ancient Inca road, to connect Chavín (450km north of Lima) and Casma, on the Pacific coast.

The best cyclists will receive several prizes. To win for the first to arrive, a trophy, a free registration for the 2019 edition and a cheque for $600.
