The three festivals to discover in Dallas Texas this month

Every year in April, the city of Dallas celebrates the arts. Launched by Mayor Mike Rawlings in 2013, Arts Month is an initiative to raise awareness among residents and visitors of the work of Dallas’ artists and arts and cultural institutions, thereby promoting creative learning in all disciplines. No less than four festivals will be held in April in the heart of Dallas.

Deep Ellum Arts Festival

The Deep Ellum Arts Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. This three-day art festival began in 1994 as a neighbourhood festival. Scheduled for April 5-7, 2019, it now includes more than 100 music groups and singer-songwriters on five stages, 200 artists presenting and selling their unique works, street artists and local food and beverage stands.

Soluna Festival

Soluna was created by Dallas and for Dallas. It brings together international artists and the best artistic institutions in Dallas. Hosted by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, SOLUNA will celebrate Dallas’ rich cultural heritage through its artistic diversity from March 29 to April 29, 2019.
Integrating performing arts with educational and scientific components, the public will be invited to experience music and art while interacting with the Dallas arts community in an original way.

Dallas Arts Fair

The Contemporary Arts Fair, Dallas Art Fair, will be held from April 11-14, 2019 at the Fashion Industry Gallery in the vibrant Arts District. It is home to many world-renowned visual and performing arts institutions and some of Dallas’ most important cultural sites, including: The Annette Strauss Artist Square, the Belo Mansion, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Theater Center/Arts District Theater, Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Nasher Sculpture Center, Klyde Warren Park, the Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, and Fashion Industry Gallery.
