The brand new Gator Chateau & Visitors Center opened its new facilities this month in Jennings, located midway between Lafayette and Lake Charles, Cajun country.
The Gator Chateau & Visitors Center is an attraction that allows visitors to learn about alligators from a volunteer guide on site. This alligator shelter collects them until they are able to return to their natural habitats.
The centre, which welcomes up to 40,000 visitors per year, generates tourism revenue for the region and allows visitors to share, in a privileged setting, knowledge about these emblematic reptiles of Louisiana.
Visitors will have the opportunity to observe alligators of all sizes in the pool and will also be able to hold and take pictures with the baby alligators.
Opening hours:
Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5pm (except public holidays)
Free entry – appreciated donations
