On April 2, the Bouriates postal services (Siberia) publicly inaugurated in Ulan Oude a postal drone manufactured by Rudron/Expeditor 3M. The objective of this ambitious project was to deliver mail in this isolated region 4,400 kilometres from Moscow.
Local journalists were invited to cover this technological novelty which was to revolutionize the daily life of the Bouriates.
Alas the inaugural flight quickly turned to disaster. If the takeoff of the UAV went well, unfortunately, it quickly crashed against the facade of a nearby building.
Apart from the drone and the ego of its designers, no other damage is to be deplored. But it is still more than 15 000 $ of investment which left in pieces.
One thing is certain, those responsible will be transferred… to Siberia !!!
Not everyone has the effectiveness of Amazon. Jeff Bezos and Prime Air have in any case nothing to fear for the moment from the possible bouriate competition.
