Air Astana and S7 airlines Siberia strengthen their cooperation with code-sharing

Air Astana and S7 Airlines, Russia’s largest private airline, have strengthened their cooperation by signing a code-share agreement for flights between Russia and Kazakhstan.

Since 15 July 2019, Air Astana flights from its Nur-Sultan and Almaty hubs to Novosibirsk or St Petersburg have been operating under an S7 Airlines flight number. Similarly, S7 Airlines flights serving Novosibirsk from Nur-Sultan and Almaty now carry the Air Astana code.

This agreement allows passengers of both airlines to easily book tickets on the network of both airlines. S7 Airlines passengers throughout Russia will now have access to ten weekly flights connecting the S7 Airlines hub from Novosibirsk to Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.

With the increase in the number of frequencies of each of the carriers on this route, air links are improved and travel times are reduced. Similarly, the Air Astana code on the S7 Airlines routes between Almaty and Novosibirsk will offer Air Astana passengers a wider choice of connecting flights.

Those travelling between Nur-Sultan or Almaty and Stockholm in Sweden can also use the growing hub of S7 Airlines in St Petersburg to get to their destination.

« Flights to Kazakhstan are in high demand by Siberian travellers. Thanks to our partnership with Air Astana, we can now offer our passengers from Novosibirsk even more opportunities to travel to the Kazakh capital – flights are made every day. In addition, our passengers from St. Petersburg can now enjoy direct flights to Nur-Sultan and Almaty. I am confident that local companies that have close business ties with Kazakhstan’s partners will greatly appreciate the comfort of flying. On the other hand, we are happy to welcome Air Astana passengers on our flights, » said Igor Veretennikov, Sales Director at S7 Airlines.
