Airbnb is still looking for stories

Applications like Snapchat or Instagram have far exceeded what is done on Facebook. They allow users to insert videos, photos and texts to transmit moods and experiences to their friends. Even Google has incorporated stories into its services. Airbnb didn’t want to be left behind and quietly launched a new feature called « Travel Stories ».
A test version on Iphone
« Travel Stories » is only available (for the moment) on the latest version of its iPhone application. Video clips are limited to 10 seconds. You can then consult the stories directly on the Airbnb website or via the « Travel Stories » tab of the application.
Airbnb seeks to increase its audience
Stories can serve two purposes for Airbnb when deployed more widely. They could become another way to create more engaged visitor feedback on a destination, experience or accommodation. This could be another way to encourage other users to book the same experiences.
But, in the end, Airbnb would like to increase the consultation of the site. Airbnb would seek to bring its customers more often. This is why the company has created new experiences such as musical events in which users could participate without leaving their own city.
Airbnb doesn’t want to reveal its final objectives
Airbnb says « We are always trying new ways to help our community tell their stories, and that’s an idea we’re exploring »… »We have no announcements to make, but we’re delighted to continue looking for ways to help Airbnb guests and customers share their travel experiences »« .
A new loyalty program
Airbnb should also launch a loyalty programme in the coming weeks and months, also with the same objective.
Few details have been revealed on how this will work, but one potential way could be to create a platform where you can make leisure and travel purchases via Airbnb.
The points would then allow you to get discounts on accommodation bookings. A formula that works very well in airlines.
Airbnb would therefore like to change the behaviour of its customers so that they use Airbnb, not only to book, but to come regularly to read the stories as we can do on Instagram and other social networks.
