Mr. Sérgio Pimenta, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the Middle East and Africa, said Ghana could be one of the most dynamic economies in the world in 2020 if the government maintained its prudent economic management system.
He noted that Ghana’s financial performance had been very positive.
« I think Ghana could even be one of the fastest growing economies in the world next year, if growth continues in the right direction, » Pimenta said during a media interaction in Accra.
« Private sector investment in Ghana is a very good foundation. But if we look at the level of investment, both domestic and foreign sector investment, there is clearly more that can be done. « , he added.
« Ghana is a very important country for us, it is one of the biggest risks on the continent. It is one of the five countries most at risk of IFCs in Africa, » he said.
He explained that the purpose of his visit was to discuss how Ghana could continue to be supported in the future and how it could do more to help Ghana pursue its development cause and achieve even stronger results.
