New Kimpton Vividora Luxury Boutique-Hotel opens soon in Barcelona

Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants inaugurates its first hotel in Spain in Barcelona. Inspired by the city’s aesthetic codes and equipped with a rooftop swimming pool, the hotel showcases the brand’s signature warm hospitality and creative Mediterranean cuisine.

The Kimpton Vividora Hotel will be the first hotel to be opened in Spain by the prestigious boutique hotel chain Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a subsidiary of the IHG Group. Located in Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter, the Kimpton Vividora Hotel will feature 156 elegantly appointed rooms and three separate bars and restaurants. The opening of this new hotel is sure to be the most eagerly awaited event in the Catalan capital’s hotel world in 2020.

Ideally located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, the cradle of Barcelona’s cultural and historical identity, the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the city’s most important sights – including Las Ramblas, Barceloneta beach, La Boqueria market and Plaça Catalunya – as well as the city’s shopping streets and gastronomic highlights.

This area with its many pedestrian streets invites guests to explore Barcelona and discover the many activities on offer in the surrounding area.

The interior design of the Kimpton Vividora Hotel is inspired by historical details, textures and colours that are emblematic of the city.

Ave Bradley, Creative Director and Senior Vice President World Design, commissioned a local interior design agency, El Equipo Creativo, to combine authenticity, contemporary designs and local artwork.

Culinary Experiences and Cocktail Art

Overlooking the lively streets of the city on one floor, the Fauna restaurant is a true haven of conviviality, reminiscent of an elegant Barcelona mansion. Chef Ferran López’s menu is inspired by Mediterranean flavours and family recipes with a touch of Kimpton’s signature creativity.

On the ground floor, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows open onto Cafè Got, the perfect place to enjoy a homemade coffee roasted in the region and delicious snacks during the day, or enjoy a glass of natural wine, homemade vermouth or a cocktail in the evening.

On the rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city centre, guests can relax at the Terraza de Vivi bar and enjoy its beautiful swimming pool with sun loungers, pergolas and lush vegetation. Original cocktails and assortments of creative culinary specialities will also be offered in a soft and refined light atmosphere.
