Promotion of tourism : BeninTaxi extends to Porto-Novo with 30 vehicles

Benin Taxi is now present in Porto-Novo with a fleet of thirty vehicles…
The « Benin Taxi » project is now settling in Porto-Novo, after the other major cities of Benin already covered. It is expanding its activities with the same objective, that of increasing the level of human mobility on offer, with a view to contributing to increasing the attractiveness of tourism in Benin.
The extension of the project has become a reality, with the establishment of a fleet of thirty brand new vehicles and to serve Porto-Novo and the other municipalities of the departments of Ouémé/Plateau.
The cars, in addition to being air-conditioned, are equipped with electronic system of geolocation and modern communication allowing the users to have connection Internet Wifi, various information and to make their reservations by telephone call or via their android mobile phones.
The price was set at 1000 CFA francs per run internally to the area in Porto-Novo. Outside the area, the cost is debatable with the artisan. The rent is 45 000 F Cfa, fuel not included. But the half-day is 25 000 FCfa. A toll-free 130 number is available to users who can call to contact drivers for their trip.

Benin Taxi has stimulated a change in local consumption habits in urban transport and has contributed to increasing tourist attractiveness. He invited both to spare no effort to bring to the craftsmen i.e. the drivers all the attention required. He urged them to take good care of the vehicle and to respect the instructions of the management team, in accordance with the training they received.
The thirty vehicles of the Porto-Novo fleet have benefited from start-up assistance in insurance, technical inspection, fuel, customer management technology, and others so that it can start without a hitch.
The representative of the Ouémé prefect, Ferdinand Agbayahoun, the mayor of Porto-Novo, Emmanuel Zossou and his colleague from Sèmè-Podji, Charlemagne Honfo were all delighted by the extension of « Benin Taxi » to Porto-Novo, after the other cities already covered where the project has a considerable impact on tourist attractiveness.
