In order to support the government project « Thailand 4.0 », the Thai authorities have approved the introduction of a new type of visa, proposed by the Royal Thai Embassy in France for a few days now: Smart Visa. .
The Thai government, under the name « Thailand 4.0 », wants to implement a sectoral industrial policy aimed at transforming the country’s current economy into an innovation-driven economy.
Following the « Thailand 1.0″ model for the agricultural industry, »Thailand 2.0 » for the light industries and « Thailand 3.0 » which currently focuses on heavy industries, the fourth version will have to lift the country out of the middle-income trap and into the high-income bracket.
To achieve this objective, the B. O. I. (a government agency whose mission is to promote foreign investment in Thailand) unveiled a new type of visa at the beginning of the year to attract foreign specialists.
As stated by the Royal Thai Embassy in France on its website, the objective of this type of visa is to encourage highly skilled foreigners to come and work or invest in Thailand. The ten areas of activity targeted for Smart Visa, known in Thailand as First S-Curve and New S-Curve.

Visit: http://smart-visa.boi.go.th, scan and download the required documents and print all documents.
To make an appointment with the Royal Embassy of Thailand in France to submit the file in order to have the qualifications validated.
Only if your file is complete, the Royal Thai Embassy in France will send it to the one-stop service (one – stop service « OSS ») in Thailand.
The OSS will validate your qualifications and send the result within 30 days of receipt of the application.
Once the application has been validated, you can go to the Royal Thai Embassy (without appointment) to submit your application and pay the visa fee within 60 days of receipt of the result sent by the OSS.
The deadline for obtaining a visa is 3 working days. The type, duration and fees of the visa will be indicated by the OSS.
