For this 26th edition of the World Travel Awards, Mauritius received the ceremony for Africa and the Indian Ocean.
On Saturday June 1st at Sugar Beach Hotel, the World Travel Awards ceremony took place in an idyllic setting, in the image of luxury and Mauritian excellence. Considered as the Oscars of tourism, the World Travel Awards designate the best professionals in each tourism sector by continent.
Minister of Tourism Anil Gayan (photo) spoke Saturday evening in front of the 500 guests about the growing economic, environmental and, of course, tourism opportunities in Africa and the Indian Ocean, in the presence of Graham COOKE, founder of the World Travel Awards.
Mauritius has won a number of awards, including the prestigious « Destination of the Indian Ocean par excellence » award.
It also received the following awards: « First Indian Ocean Wedding Destination 2019 », « First Indian Ocean Cruise Destination 2019 », « First Indian Ocean Adventure Tourism Destination 2019 ».
