Virgil Abloh exposes himself in Chicago

Until September 22, 2019, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Chicago is presenting the first exhibition dedicated to the work of multi-genre creator Virgil Abloh. The exhibition « Figures of Speech » focuses on Virgil’s creative process and collaborative work, which redefines fashion, art and design.

Virgil Abloh is a pioneer in a new creative discipline that touches all media and is the basis for a deep collaboration, bringing together visual artists, musicians, graphic designers, designers and architects.

This American designer with multiple interests is the Louis Vuitton brand’s artistic director for men. An architect by training, he is also a stylist, DJ, Kanye West’s right-hand man, as well as the founder of the Milan-based Off-White brand.

Virgil Abloh’s creations mix several styles: her clothing lines are luxurious and fashionable during Fashion Week but they are also inspired by street style.

The 1990s were a source of inspiration for Virgil Abloh, from graffiti to skateboarding, as well as the music of those years, his creations were appreciated by celebrities and earned him a nomination for the LVMH prize, which rewards young fashion designers.
